Nancy Duarte says that, “Technology is the campfire around which we tell our stories.” This idea struck a chord with me, and I tried to put her concept into motion for propelling all of my designs for this presentation. The result was a corporate PowerPoint that looked nothing like a corporate PowerPoint. By removing all of the original clutter, I was able to communicate big and important ideas quickly and in a way that was memorable and effective.

I used my graphics for crafting a story by leveraging a push and pull technique taught by Duarte. This method drives audience members towards a resolution by contrasting seemingly insurmountable problems with powerful and inspiring solutions. Instead of reading and staring at hundreds of slides filled with small type, the audience was able to grasp concepts quickly and became more engaged with each presenter. Presenters in turn ceased this opportunity by effectively delivering the important details of our team’s story.
